Here is the second installment of our Singing Basics video series! This one is slightly longer than the first two, but that's because it's very important: it's about breathing!
If you've never been taught to breathe like a singer before, it might feel very strange at first. It might even take you a little while to figure out what you're doing, and that's okay. The main thing to remember is that perseverance is key! Even just doing this short series of exercises once or twice a day for five minutes will make a huge improvement in your breathing.
As you develop good breathing, try to be mindful of how you breathe throughout your day. When you can, focus on taking low, deep breaths, even when you are not singing. The more you practice good breathing, the more second-nature it will become.
