Rising Stars is thrilled to bring its Musical Theater Intensive to the North Shore! Now in its 6th season,  our week-long program follows the time-old tradition of a musical revue, and consists of  a theatrical performance of songs from many different Broadway musicals.  Selections are chosen each year based on the talent that is displayed during auditions. This allows each student the chance to be featured, and gives students the opportunity to perform a wide range of songs and styles.

Rising Stars Productions hires professional educators in the performing arts field who have trained and performed all across the country.  Students rehearse daily  with our top-notch staff to hone their singing, acting, and dancing abilities.  We keep the sizes of our programs relatively small, so that each student can receive the attention that he or she needs to shine.  The week culminates in a Friday evening performance that is open to friends, family, and the general public.

Musical Theater Intensive

for Homeschoolers

Beverly, MA

*Audtions are for planning purposes only. All applicants will be accepted into the program.

The auditions will be held May 4th and 5th in Beverly and Reading, time and locations TBA.  The auditions are individual appointments and last approximately 10 minutes.  We will contact you to arrange an appointment when we receive your registration forms.

What to Prepare

Please prepare a short song (one verse and refrain) from memory. Selections from musical theater, Disney, folk songs, church songs, etc. are welcome. No pop or rock, please.

What to Bring

Please bring the sheet music for the piano accompanist, three-hole punched and in a hardcover binder.  The music must be in the key in which you plan to sing.  Please do not bring a karaoke track, or sing a capella (unaccompanied).   Everynote.com, sheetmusicplus.com, and sheetmusicdirect.com are all great resources for finding sheet music. Please ask us if you need any assistance finding music.

What to Expect

In the audition, we will do some short vocal exercises (vocalises) with you, and then hear you sing the piece you have prepared. We may also ask you a few questions based on your responses in the registration and audition intake forms. Our goal is to get to know you and your voice, and to have fun! Auditions can be nerve-wracking, but we hope to make the experience as enjoyable as possible for you. Hearing everyone ahead of time will allow us to choose the songs that will best showcase the talents of our cast.

Please let us know if you have any questions about the auditions!
